Ramadan crescent sighting from Ankara

New moon (conjunction): Saturday, February 6, 2027 at 18:56 (Europe/Istanbul).

Evening	Sunset	Moonset	Lag	Moon age	Moon altitude	Elongation	Odeh V	Visibility
Feb 6	18:13	—	—	-0.7 h	—	—	—	Moon not yet born
Feb 7	18:14	19:07	53 m	23.3 h	9.5°	10.1°	3.79	Visible with optical aid, maybe naked eye
Feb 8	18:15	20:09	114 m	47.3 h	20.7°	21.5°	19.52	Easily visible (naked eye)

Turkey follows the calendar of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), based on the 2016 Istanbul criterion: the month begins when the crescent is at least 5° high with an elongation of at least 8° at sunset somewhere in the world. The expected date above uses this rule; the colours show the Odeh visibility for comparison.
